The first phase of the fundraising project, with a goal of raising $3 million of the $36.2 million needed to complete the construction of the brand new Pelham Community Centre, has officially started. Individuals, community organizations, local businesses and companies are presented with naming opportunities for specific spaces in the beautiful new community centre, giving these donors a first chance to be recognized for their gift and demonstrate their continued support of the Pelham community and Niagara Region.
The Pelham Community Centre promises to have a significant positive impact on the Town of Pelham and the larger Niagara region. Several community groups have already expressed interest in making use of the new facilities including the municipality, Pelham Minor Hockey, Niagara Centre Skating Club, Pelham Panthers Hockey, Faith Tabernacle Hockey, several Old-timers’ leagues, and the Fonthill and District Kinsmen.
It’s official: Pelham will build a $36.2-million multi-use community centre with two arenas. By a 5-2 vote, town council Monday night supported a design for a twin ice pad and dual-gymnasium centre with a large multipurpose room and walking track.
